Loic Le Meur of Six Apart and Jacques Froissant of Altaide, two blogging precursors, came and talked about, yes, blogging.
A reminder about this week’s informal get-together: Evening drinks in the bar at Le Cercle Suédois (address above). There is no speaker, just an opportunity to meet some other L@C people, as well as some others (the Cercle Suédois has an open house this evening so there will be plenty of other people too). There will be a jazz band playing with a singer (she also doubles as director for the Cercle Suédois…). These evenings usually bring together 10-15 L@C participants.
– Starting at 19.00. Drinks and snacks as you wish in the bar
– The Cercle Suédois will charge a small entrance fee (5 or 8 euro I think)
– No pre-registration required.

Rob works with many software companies to deliver software online ‘as a service’, including aggregators, innovators and software companies that are just plain scared of SaaS. (Rob was also recently instrumental in making NTT Europe the only really European partner to Microsoft for SaaS.) Rob explains how SaaS affects software companies and how it will change the industry. What IS this SaaS thing? Why does it matter? Should I do it? How is it different from ASP (well, there you have it!!)? What are the pitfalls and the advantages?

Perhaps not so long and not so lost, but all the same. Susan Lucas-Conwell was (even though she might not know it) one of the “spiritual inspirations” of Lunch at the Circle. I happened to find this video interview with her where she talks about her current role as Executive Director of SVForum (previously SDForum), a Silicon Valley networking and educational organisation.
